Shaun Tracey and Joe Farrell will be organising a new Rapidplay chess league in the City of London during the summer months; does your club want to take part?
All matches will all be held on Wednesday evenings at the Golden Lane Community Centre (Barbican), the regular London League venue. Here's a map.

Whilst the precise format is yet to be finalised, we envisage the league consisting of up to 10 teams, with each team having 4 or 5 boards. Every team will have a match each week; for example, if there are 10 teams, there will be 9 weeks of matches, from June to August. The time control will be 30 minutes per player per game, and and each player will play the same opponent twice; with the white and black pieces. There will also be grading bands to ensure that opponents are roughly evenly matched.
The costs will simply be the charges for hiring Golden Lane. This will equate to just under £15 per club plus the cost of grading all the games (another £15 per club). We will need this to be paid in advance.
